The decision to consult a specialist is often an intimidating one.
The following is a step by step account of the consultation process to prepare you for your appointment with Dr Dillon.
Annelize (021-883 2646) will make an appointment for you and will inform you of what you need to bring on the day of your consultation. If you need X-rays prior to your appointment, Annelize will provide a referral letter for the X-ray department and this has to be done before your appointment with Dr Dillon. Payment of consultation fees is made on the day.
“Our goal is for you to experience expert care of your knee ailment that is delivered with compassion and personal attention from beginning to end.”
You will be allocated a 30 minute slot for your first appointment with Dr Dillon. During this time a detailed history, examination and review of your special investigations will be undertaken. After the diagnosis is confirmed the possible treatment options will be discussed with you. You will then be able to make an informed decision about the way forward.
If surgery is necessary, you will discuss the arrangements with Janine. She will assist you with a date for theatre, an estimate of additional surgery costs based on your individual medical aid plan and assist you with the steps of pre-admission hospital authorisation. All administration and forms will be completed before your surgery date.
All matters pertaining to the day of surgery, hospital stay and possible step-down care will be discussed in detail with Janine.
One of our physiotherapists will assist you post-operatively in the hospital with your rehabilitation.
