PERP

Perp

Jean has given his consent to the use of these pictures to explain this technique. First step is to draw 60mls of his blood. This is placed into a centrifuge and spun for 10 minutes resulting in the blood separating into layers of its component parts. We then draw off the PERP layer. It contains platelets which are cells filled with substances that promote healing. Under ultrasound guidance a needle is placed into the damaged area in the patella tendon. The PERP is then injected. It is expected that it will accelerate healing of the tendinosis. Combined with a very specific rehabilitation programme we are confident healing will occur, but it takes takes time in these cases for Mother Nature to work her magic….up to 6 months.
