Knee replacement cadaveric course

Knee replacement cadaveric course

I had the privilege of attending a meeting arranged by a company that manufactures knee replacement prostheses held in Cape Town recently. Attendees to the course were mostly from South Africa, but there were a few colleagues from as far afield as Nigeria.

A large part of the course was spent at the Anatomy department of the Stellenbosch University at the Tygerberg campus. It is always a great opportunity to experiment with new devices on cadaveric specimens. The presenters were superb and shared their knowledge with enthusiasm: British practiced perfection was shown by Mr Philip Chapman-Sheath, Austrian expertise by Dr Pietsch and French flair was provided by Professor Sébastien Parratte. Thank you to them for sharing their expertise with us. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn from and exchange ideas regarding knee replacement surgery with these esteemed colleagues. My thanks go to them and also to Zimmer Biomet for organising this superb event.
